Disclosure:
The process of healing may cause healthy changes in relationships.
Before we start an online session, you must complete a protected health information (PHI) form. PHI will protect all your personal information in our session.
All documents, notes, and paperwork provided by you or your physician, mental health professional, or legal representative are stored safely to protect your confidentiality.
I will break that confidentiality if I feel you are in danger of harming yourself or another person.
As a Certified Trauma Recovery Coach™ and State of California, I act as a Mandatory Reporter, as outlined by the International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaching. This means that if I become aware that a minor, disabled person or elderly person is currently being abused, I am mandated to report the abuse to the appropriate governing agency.
As a coach, I have limitations on what we can work through in your recovery or Supervisory journey. I do not have the expertise to help you in some situations. Suppose you are in a place where there are risks to your safety. In that case, you are suicidal, significantly self-harming, amid an active addiction – the Association mandates that I help you find someone competent to deal with that particular issue. You do not have to stop seeing me, but we must bring in another professional who has the expertise with whatever safety issue is at hand to help you with those issues. This is called our Escalated Care Protocol. I can provide additional details if you have questions about this process.
You can expect me:
To be on time for appointments and during our sessions to be 100% focused on our time together
to be knowledgeable about trauma and up to date on the latest research.
Expect no judgment from me; this is a safe and confidential space for you.
I want to be your peer and guide through our time together. I know trauma, but you know yourself.
I will bring tools and strategies to our work so you feel confident knowing you are "on the right path."
My expectations of you:
Please arrive 5 minutes before the session. This will allow you to relax and prepare for our session.
Please come to sessions willing to work on your recovery journey.
Please let me know if you feel triggered at any time during a session.
Please let me know if you need anything from me during our work together.
Please be as open and honest with me as possible. This will enable our work to be as beneficial as possible.
Policies & Procedures Payment
Payment: is expected prior to each session. You will be invoiced at least 24 hours before each session, and payment must be made before the session can occur. If you do not make payment, the session will be canceled. If this becomes a problem, payment will need to be effective at the time of booking the session.
Cancellations: If you cancel your appointment within 24 hours notice, I will assess a 50% penalty for the late cancellation. This means that I will keep 50% of your session fee and then hold the remainder to apply to your rescheduled appointment within 7 to 10 days of the cancellation.
If you do not show up for a session without giving me notice, I will retain the entirety of your session fee. I have set aside this hour for you, and if you do not cancel with at least 24 hours' notice, I am unable to fill it out with someone else.
If you repeatedly fail to cancel our sessions in a timely manner, I may terminate our coaching relationship.
Refunds: If you make payment for a session and cancel that appointment more than 24 hours before your appointment, your payment will apply to your rescheduled session. If you do not reschedule a session within 30 days, I will refund your payment when 30 days have elapsed.
Crisis response: I do not provide crisis resources outside of client sessions. If you are in crisis and live in the United States, you can access RAINN's Crisis Line (1.800.656.4673) or their online chat feature. You may also reach out to the Crisis Text Line at 741741. The National Suicide Hotline is available at 1.800.273.8255. If you do not live in the United States, I can help you locate a crisis resource in your country.
Communication outside of sessions: You may email me at any time. I will respond as soon as I can. If I am outside the country, that may take up to 24 hours.
Alcohol and drugs: Please do not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol during our coaching sessions. It is difficult to have a session worth the devotion of either of our time when you are under the influence. If you are struggling with any substance abuse issues, I welcome you to let me know so we can talk about it and work to get you any help that you might need. If you repeatedly come to a session under the influence but do not tell me or fail to acknowledge that you are impaired if I ask you whether you are, this may result in my ending our coaching relationship.
Bringing a third person into sessions: Please do not bring anyone (spouse, parent, friend) to a coaching session without first discussing it with me. Before a third party comes into a coaching session, we will need to with 24 hours' discuss your confidentiality and goals.
Cell phone usage – please turn your cell phone off or leave it in another room during coaching sessions unless you are using your phone to participate in the session.
Grievance Procedure: I am required to let you know that I am a Certified Trauma Recovery Coach credentialed by The International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaching. As a Certified Trauma Recovery Coach, I am bound to uphold the Association's Code of Ethics. If you feel I have failed to abide by the Association's Code of Ethics or wronged you in another way, don't hesitate to get in touch with our Professional Standards Committee at Grievance@iaotrc.com. All reports and grievance actions are held confidential by the Professional Standards Committee.
